Millennial Media are an independent ad tech company who connect top brands with their target audiences. After being acquired by AOL in 2015 and undergoing massive expansion; they have become part of the third largest mobile ad network in the world (after Facebook and Google’s mobile services).
Following a series of design workshops with the main contractor, it became apparent that Millennial Media wanted something a series of tailored solutions for their new offices. The brief was to create a workplace that reflected the vibrant, fast-paced environments of technology and advertising, while demonstrating their vibrant company culture.
For the main reception, we used a series of patterns from Bolon’s Create range. This woven vinyl is incredibly durable and stain resistant; perfect for a busy office. The subdued grey tones of Create allowed for accents of bright and bold colour to be used in the furniture and partitioning.
Geometric shapes were a point of inspiration in the main space with gigantic cubes used to separate the spaces. We introduced this idea into the flooring with our specialist fitters creating intersections of tessellating triangles. This completely bespoke design forms stunning, futuristic 3D shapes when looked at from different angles.
As the meeting rooms had access to an abundance of natural light, we employed a hard-wearing felt carpet from Desso’s Menda collection in a bright orange. This worked in tandem with the breakout and meeting room furnishings in creating a flexible, vibrant hub that had natural sound absorption from the woven carpet.
The UK Managing Director of Millennial Media had this to say of the project, “We wanted a space that inspired staff and clients alike and also to create a work environment our team would feel proud of and our agenda has been accomplished with your hard work and enthusiasm.”
