With over a century in business, Oktra are one of the UK’s leading experts in commercial interior design and fit-out. Having outgrown their existing space and wanting a more central location, they chose High Holborn for their new offices.
Following a series of consultative workshops, it became clear that Oktra were looking for a series of innovative flooring solutions that blended their creative mind-set with corporate professionalism. They wanted to use their new office as a working showroom that offered potential clients a spark of inspiration when envisioning their own office spaces.
Secondly, it was important to Oktra that the flooring materials were highly durable and could accommodate a good deal of foot traffic without ceding to wear and tear over time.
With this in mind, Bolon’s uniquely customisable ranges were the perfect choice. We contrasted flooring shapes and colours as a method of signposting the distinct areas – from tessellating triangles in the dining spaces to fogged squares in the meeting zones. As Oktra’s branding uses a dark grey, we applied this shade throughout the office which is highlighted with bright flashes of yellow.
As the project was on a considerably fast turnaround with other installers working around us, it was paramount we worked closely with Oktra’s project managers. The nature of fitting Bolon products involves cutting and installing the woven materials with absolute precision to ensure the perfect fit with minimum wastage, our skilled fitters did exactly this – ensuring everything was right on time; the first time.
Oktra were delighted with their stunning new flooring which marries together both of Oktra’s main ambitions: a vibrant, unique aesthetic with a versatile and resilient solution – perfect for their showcase office.
